About me

I’m German on my mum’s side, Brazilian on my dad’s side, feel at home in London, and currently live in Switzerland.

After moving from London to Zurich in 2020, I’ve been travelling more than I had before, and I’ve been taking the train or public transport wherever possible. I also noticed that it can be a bit intimidating to take public transport without knowing what to expect, so I’m sharing videos on YouTube where I take you along on some excursions, from short outings to longer journeys which I get a lot of questions on!

Stations, Sights, & Switzerland

I love a good project, so in addition to just sharing my travels I’ve set myself the somewhat absurd challenge of visiting all Swiss public transport train stations, of which there are 1720 (I think… based on the SBB data I was able to find). It’s a bit of a stretch goal and I’m not setting myself a timeline, but I’d love to give it a go and hopefully it’ll be an interesting experience and force me to explore different bits of the country, not just the same areas over and over!

As I get to make up the rules for this project, I’ll count a station as having been visited if I’ve walked between it and another station (in either direction) or if I’ve spent at least 15min in the area around the station, for instance exploring the local town, going for a walk or a hike, or visiting a museum there.

I’ll share some of the sights and activities I get up to, while in Zurich but also while travelling. Some of this will be in other countries, especially in London and Vienna where my sister and parents live.

Finally, I hope to share some of my experiences of life in Switzerland as someone who’s not from here. Between moving out of my parents’ home and moving to Zurich I’d only ever lived in London, and there are some big differences. For instance it turns out that almost every larger Swiss town has a shopping centre attached to its train station, because those shops are allowed more generous opening times than elsewhere!
